“If you love to work on engines, if u have an interest in manufacturing or if you have an aptitude for drawing then mechanical engineering might be your calling.” It is one of the oldest and the evergreen branch among all other branches of engineering. They deal with the concepts of mechanics, thermodynamics, robotics, kinematics, structural mechanics, fluid mechanics, power sector, refrigeration, air conditioning sector and aerospace. In this field you will have ample opportunity to demonstrate your skills in the lab. As a student of mechanical engineering, you will find yourself deep-diving into this core technical field that deals with various subjects broadly classified into the design, thermal and manufacturing streams.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering made its beginning with the establishment of the college in 1997.The department has well qualified teaching faculties and supporting technical staff led by an experienced foreman who strives for imparting best practical knowledge. The department also called as ‘Royal Mech’ conducts a technical program in the name of ‘MECHTECH’ . We have around 1500 books in our department library. Our students have been actively associating themselves with industries through Industrial projects, In plant training and Industrial visits with organizations like Escorts, TVS, Ashok Leyland, Rove lab, Bosch etc…Almost all the students are members of the professional societies of SAE, ISTE and IEI. We have the placement record of top core mechanical companies like Alpha 9 Marine services, Triveni turbines, Go Speedy Go, Westline shipping Management Pvt Ltd, Kayjay forgings Pvt Ltd, HYUNDAI Polytech along with TCS, WIPRO, HCL, INFOSYS, COGNIZANT etc…
Mechanical engineering creates a base for students who aspire to lead their career in the fields of design, materials, manufacturing, CAD/CAM/CAE, Automation, Mechatronics, MEMS (Micro Electrical Mechanical Systems), FEM as well as managerial aspects of industry. Mechanical engineering graduates are sought after by employers in most sectors of the engineering industry including aerospace, automobile, chemical, construction, defence, industrial electronics, IT, materials, pharmaceutical, railway etc…
