On occasion of World Anti Drug Day, Government of Karnataka, in association with all Universities including VTU had organised 3kms Awareness rally on Drugs from Vidhana Soudha, steps to Kanteerava stadium. The rally was inaugurated by Sri, D K Shiva Kumar, Honourable Deputy Chief minister of Karnataka, in his speech he asked all volunteers to spread awareness about ill effects of Drugs to the family members, surroundings & friends & if they come across such incidents asked to intimate them to nearest police Station. The rally was started waving the green flag by Honourable Deputy Chief minister of Karnataka. Sri Nagendra, Youth & Sports Minister, Karnataka, NSS Coordinator Karnataka were present.
Nearly 25 NSS volunteers of our Institution had participated in the rally, took oath on the occasion of World Anti Drug Day, our volunteers did interact with Sri Nagendra, Youth & Sports Minister, Karnataka & told our campus is Drugs free & safe, they promised that they will spread awareness about ill effects of Drugs in their surroundings & if any such issues are found will intimate the nearby police station. The rally started at 10.10am & ended at 11.45 am, after light breakfast was served to all participants & a certificate was given at Kanteerava Stadium.
