Sri Sairam College of Engineering organized its 27thInduction Day on the 21st of September, 2023 in honor of the first-year students who will be embarking on a new journey of education, growth and innovation.
The auspicious occasion was initiated by paying respect to the state of Karnataka with the soulful melody of Nada Geethe. To enhance the glory of the event we had amongst us the former Member of Legislative Council of the Govt of Karnataka, Capt. Ganesh Karnik, as the Chief Guest of the Day. The day was further enlightened with the presence of the Guest of Honour, Sri. Rajesh R Nambiar, APJ Leader for Academic & Workforce Development Partnerships at Ui-Path. Furthermore, the Chief Business Officer, Sri. R Sathish Kumar and Chief Information Officer of Sairam Institutions – Sri. Naresh Raj were also present to grace the occassion. The dignitaries were accompanied by the Principal, Dr B Shadaksharappa, Management Representative, Dr. R Arun Kumar and Trustee, Sri. K Patel. To illuminate the day, the dignitaries lit the lamp and adorned the dais while the invocation song paying tribute to Lord Ganesha was sung by our student, Jaibhavani from Dept of ISE.
Honourable Principal, Dr. B Shadaksharappa, presented the Welcome Address before all. He warmly greeted all the dignitaries, invitees, parents, faculty and students and expressed his joy stating that the college is celebrating its 27th year of excellence. He unfurled insightful information about the college and its respective departments; he further spoke on the various aspects of Engineering that plays an important role in building human marvels through creative & critical thinking.
The Chief Business Officer, Sri. R Sathish Kumar, addressed the audience. He spoke about the institution and its ascending rank amongst the top colleges both at state level and national level. He highlighted the fact that Sri Sairam College of Engineering is the center of excellence that offers technical education along with research opportunities of very high standards to students. His words motivated the students towards achieving their goals with innovation and enthusiasm.
Following this, the chief guest, Capt. Ganesh Karnik came forward to address the audience. Sir being an erudite scholar and pillar of knowledge proposed an immensely motivating speech before the audience and the students to be commencing their journey of graduation. “A journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step”, saying that he encouraged the students to step ahead with the right goal in life. He spoke about the role played by education in the path of excellence and his speech energized the students with much positivity for their upcoming academic journey.
Chief Information Officer, Sri. Naresh Raj gave special address before all the dignitaries, faculties, students and their parents. He initiated his speech by inculcating values of respect and gratitude in the students to help them realize the contribution of their parents and teachers in their life. He spoke about the importance of upskilling and updating knowledge on a regular basis. He also spoke about the effectiveness of the placement cell in identifying the current industry talent requirements and accordingly enhancing the skills of the students. He also encouraged the students to delve deep into innovation and develop new projects and models alongside their course of study.
Furthermore, the Guest of Honour, Sri. Rajesh R Nambiar came forward to address the audience. Sir spoke about our Nation ascending the ranks of development. With the progress noted in the current times, it is the responsibility of the students to excel in taking India to the runway of becoming a country leading the world economy. He addressed the first year students and advised them to correctly utilize all the available resources to bring about the most productive outcome for the Nation to cherish.
Vote of thanks was proposed by the Management Representative of Sri Sairam College of Engineering, Dr. R Arun Kumar. Sir spoke about his own memorable experiences whilst being a part of Sairam institutions for the past 20 years. He spoke about the dignified Sairam Alumni, Dr. Veeramuthuvel, a staunch academician and scientist, who was the Project Director of Chandrayaan-3. Sir motivated students towards building a better future. He expressed his immense gratitude to the chief guest & Guest of Honour for contributing their valuable time, in spite of having a busy schedule. He heartily thanked all the dignitaries for their presence and insightful words that encouraged the newly joined students. He further thanked the Principal, Faculties and students who have contributed towards making this program a grand success.
The curtains were drawn for the day with the National Anthem.
