Sri Sairam College of Engineering held its 23rdGraduation Day on the 29th of October, 2023. Graduation Ceremony is a celebration of success for the students who have trudged ahead the challenging path of academics and emerged successful. To enhance the glory of the event we had amongst us dignified and eminent personalities. To begin with, we invited the Dr. T. N Sreenivasa ,Registrar (Evaluation) Visvesvaraya Technological University, as Chief Guest for the Day and Shri. Brijendra Shahas as Guest of Honour who is the DGM of Toyota Industries. The day was further enlightened with the presence of our honourable Chief Information Officer, Shri Naresh Raj, Principal, Dr. B Shadaksharappa, Management Representative, Dr. R Arun Kumar & Trustee, Sri. K Patel. The auspicious occasion was initiated with the zestful state song, Naada Geethe. To illuminate the day, the dignitaries lighted the lamp and adorned the dais. The Programme was hosted by Prof. Adisha Manna & Dr Suvodip Mukhrejee, Dept. of Science & Humanities.
Honourable Principal Dr. B Shadaksharappa presented the Welcome Address before all. He warmly greeted all the dignitaries, parents, students and expressed his sincere gratitude to all for their valuable presence. Sir congratulated the students on the successful completion of their graduation journey. He motivated the students to be responsible citizens of the country because now most of them will be working as professionals. At the same time, they should understand their responsibilities as citizens of the country and carry them out with utmost integrity. Sir further upheld the fact that the passed-out students will be ambassadors of the institution and will work hard to keep its banner high worldwide. His all-encompassing speech gave the students an anchor to successfully sail along the sea of life and career.
After the Welcome Address, Graduation Day was declared open by CIO, Shri. Naresh Raj. Following this, the profiles of the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were introduced before the audience and the guests were felicitated by CIO, Principal and Management Representative of the college.
Furthermore, Chief Information Officer, Shri Naresh Raj proposed the presidential address before the audience. He highlighted the fact that Sri Sairam College of Engineering is the centre of excellence as it offers technical education along with research opportunities of very high standards to students. He motivated the students to aim for excellence in their respective professions and to value their parents in every phase of life. His words motivated the students towards achieving their goals with innovation and enthusiasm.
The audience were next addressed by the Guest Dr. T. N Sreenivasa, he delivered an immensely inspiring Graduation Address for all the students. Having erudite visionary, he spoke about his rich experience in the field of academia with special focus on the different branches of education into play in the current times. He spoke of the reforms that came about in VTU under his supervision where the university now publishes the results within 5 days from the end of the exam; the university also collaborates with worldwide reputed universities through global campus initiatives. He also enlightened the audience on the importance of research centres in every institution and its role in shaping the life of students in the near future. His dedication towards academia and his student-centric speech energised the students and everyone present in the hall.
This was followed by felicitation ceremony for the toppers, to announce this Dr. R Arun Kumar, Management Representative of the college came forward. Prior to the felicitation, he thanked Dr. T. N Sreenivasa for his presence and immensely inspiring speech. He addressed the students and congratulated them on becoming graduates successfully. Then the respective department toppers were felicitated by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Chief Information Officer, Principal & Management Representative.
Then Guest of Honour, Shri. Brijendra Shah addressed the audience enlightening them with his spectrum of knowledge and experience. He spoke about the innate talents of a human being, and guided the students speaking about the toughest challenges of life and the ways to face them with positivity. He motivated the students speaking about the values of human life like honesty, solidarity, civility, character, morality and the importance of adhering to these values without deviating from them. He encouraged the students to go ahead in their career fearlessly and achieve the best with given resources.
Following this, the Heads of all the Departments came forward to announce the names of their respective department Graduands and award them with their degrees. The seminar hall reverberated with the gleeful echo of all the students receiving their degrees. It was indeed a proud moment for all.
As young graduates, it becomes a responsibility to transform the nation into a developed country and to take the nation ahead, the students should make a promise. Principal, Dr. B Shadaksharappa administered the pledge to all the graduands. The students repeated the pledge after Principal. Following this, the graduation ceremony was declared closed by Chief Information Officer, Shri. Naresh Raj.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Malini K V, Head of Corporate Academia. She motivated the students towards building a better future. She expressed her immense gratitude to the guests for contributing their valuable time, in spite of their busy schedule. She heartily thanked all the dignitaries for their presence and insightful words that encouraged the students. She further thanked the faculties and students who have contributed towards making this program a grand success.
The curtains were drawn for the day with the National Anthem.
