Report on IIC Mentor- Mentee Scheme-2023

We are glad to inform that our Sairam Institute’s Innovation council has been selected as mentor institutions for the Mentor-Mentee Scheme 2023 of IIC, MIC. A total of 100 IIC institutions are selected as mentor institutions.

Objective of Mentor-Mentee Program

The objective of Mentor-Mentee scheme for IIC institutions is to engage high performing IIC institutions specially those have secured star rating of 3 and above during the previous IIC calendar year to act as mentor to the IIC institutions those are need of guidance and support. This twining program will help IIC institutions to facilitate knowledge exchange and resource mobilization between institutions by offering inter-institutional collaborations. Scheme is designed to mentor 5 mentee IIC institutes by one mentor Institute.

Through this scheme, 100 high performing IIC institutions will act as mentor to 250-300 IIC institutions as mentee on a ratio of 1:5. Each eligible mentor institute will get funding assistance of up to Rs. 40,000/- per mentee institute and expected to mentor 5 mentee institute from MIC/AICTE to organise the prescribed activities for mentee institutions.

As per the scheme and budget provision, a maximum total of 100 IIC institutions can be supported under this program, therefore the evaluation committee has considered the following shortlisting criteria to prepare the finalist of mentor institutions with financial support from MIC.

  • Consideration of IIC institutions that have secured 3.5 or 4 stars in the IIC5.0 annual performance star rating.
  • Ensuring homogeneity in the distribution of mentor institutions across all zones/states proportionate with the number of prospective mentee institutions are in zones/states.
