International Women’s Day Celebration on 10.03.202

Our college hosted VTU gender champion event – International Women’s Day Program on 10th March 2020(Tuesday) successfully.

The program started at 2.00pm with invocation song followed by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. The Dignitaries Ms. Swathi Vasishta, Entrepreneur, Financial Investments & Services, Ms. Asambhava, Strategy & Experience Specialist, Youtube Channel Zaikaana India’s Founder, Ms. Pratibha Chakrabarty, Founder, Rasoisaga, Youtube Channel, Ms. Monika Rajashekar, Enabler: Programmes, Durgaindia, NGO, Sri. Nagendra Babu K, Asst. Program Facilitator, Durgaindia,NGO, Dr. B. Shadaksharappa, Principal, Sri. K. Patel, PRO, Trustee occupied the dias.

After invocation followed by lighting the lamp, Prof. K. V. Malini,HOD-EEE Dept. welcomed the gathering. In her address she highlighted the importance and role of a woman.  Presidential address was delivered by Dr. B. Shadaksharappa, Principal. He encouraged the participation and involvement of women in every activity.

The session was started with Ms. Swathi Vasishta, a trader, investor, data scientist & holds a special interest in Fintech. She addressed the challenges facing by women in their personal finance and thereby encouraging more women to invest, grow their money and actively participate in economy.  She motivated all to be passionate, competitive, ethical and self confident.The next speaker was Ms. Asambhava, she engaged the students through an interactive session. In that she discussed about the passion of students. The last speaker was Ms. Pratibha Chakrabarty, she motivated the students to do what they like to do.

All the speakers shared their view about gender equality in their speech. They also expressed that the involvement of other genders in work, getting them to involve themselves and show their support and solidarity to women in our struggles towards gender equality. This is done innovatively through involving them in our work proactively. The sessions were interesting.

As a part of International Women’s Day Celebration various activities like Open Mic- Stand up by your humour/Spark the talk, Blind Fold Conservation- Speak your heart out, Frustration Board- A stage to put your frustration out, Speed Networking- Connect with minds was arranged in association with DurgaIndia-NGO.

The session winded up with vote of thanks by Dr. P.Gangavathi, IQAC Coordinator, HOD-S&H Dept. followed by National Anthem.
