About Department

  • The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Sri Sairam College of Engineering formerly Shirdi Sai Engineering College was established in the year 1997-1998(with intake of 40 students).
  • The department offers B.E. degree programmes in Computer Science and Engineering which are affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University with current annual intake of 120 students.
  • The Department has an excellent track record of organizing various workshops and conferences in areas of emerging technologies and faculties are encouraging students to do innovative projects.
  • The faculty members are highly motivated and devoted to deliver the highest quality professional education to students and combined with strong teaching learning process including ICT enabled classrooms.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

PSO-1The ability to understand, analyze and develop computer programs in the areas
related to algorithms, system software, networking and embedded computing,
web design, and data analytics for efficient design of computer-based systems.
PSO-2The ability to understand the evolutionary changes in computing technologies,
apply standard practices and strategies in software project development and
testing using various programming environments to deliver a quality product for
business, real world problems and meet the challenges of the future.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

After 4 years of completing the programme on Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering, the graduates will become,

  • Graduates develop knowledge in the core areas of Computer Science Engineering and enhance technical and research skills for providing software solutions.
  • Graduates will pursue technical and managerial skills to analyze and develop problem solving abilities of Computer Science and Engineering through Mathematics,Science and Engineering to encounter industrial needs.
  • Graduates develop effective communication and management skills to interact effectively with stakeholders inthe field of Computer Science Engineering and develop innovative solutions for real time problems.
  • Graduate with lifelong learning, demonstrate skills and knowledge in the domain of computer programming and exhibit leadership qualities, teamwork,social and ethical values.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POS)

At the end of the B.E program, students are expected to have developed the following outcomes.

PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7: Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of need for sustainable development.
