About the Department

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 1997. the department has well qualified, passionate and dedicated staff, most of who are engaged in path breaking research and development. Department has current annual intake of 30 students and lateral entry students from all parts of India.
The students are encouraged to work on both in-house projects and with leading Research Organizations in Electrical Sciences. Every year students and faculty members have been publishing technical papers in National and International Journals. The campus placement is excellent. Apart from this, many students have secured admission in prestigious Universities abroad. In the recent past, the students graduating from the Department have been placed in reputed core Electrical Engineering companies and Information Technology consulting companies.
The Course at the Department is a healthy amalgam of Power Engineering, Industrial Drives and Digital Electronics and Computer Science Engineering, comprehensive and in keeping modern trends of Electrical and Electronics Engineering education. Course pattern at the department is planned to keep the students up to date with the recent trends and shifting technological paradigms, making them industry ready..
The pedagogy of the Department is shifting towards Outcome Based Education. As part of this, an Academic Council has been set up to take valuable suggestions and views on the activities happening in the Department. The annual techno-cultural fest of the Department titled “MILAGRO” is planned and organized by the students. The faculty members of the Department, through the e-learning facility, have created an online open-access video lecture series for the critical courses accessible to all.

Job opportunities

Electrical and Electronic engineers are highly employable and can find work in many areas, including the electronics, automotive, Electric vehicle, IT, gaming, telecoms, manufacturing, power, transport, utilities and construction industries.
The development of new practice models in computer control systems is the main responsibility of electrical engineers. Due to the global dependence on power systems, there is a demand for qualified electrical engineers to achieve economies of scale and improve the reliability of technical operations.

Career Opportunities For Electrical and electronics engineers are massive in Government Sector (state and Central Government) and IT -Telecom fields as the subjects taught to them in graduation have practical usefulness in the work environments.

Various manufacturing industries are looking for talented electrical and electronics engineers who are adept in system management, feedback control systems, defence and space command development organizations.

Infrastructure

The laboratory infrastructure of the department is excellent with state of art equipments and software related to the field of Engineering. The extensive facilities available in the laboratories can be utilized for research work, in addition to the lab courses as per the affiliating university requirement for UG.

The department has spacious classrooms, seminar hall, and a well-equipped laboratory. The department has a dedicated computer lab with 40 systems, all in a networked environment with un- interrupted power supply. These systems have the recent and most updated Software.

The role of a library is critical in making a knowledge society. So the department functions with a library with a collection of standard books for the faculty and students to refer and enhance their knowledge. The department Library collection also includes DVDs in various subjects as per the academic syllabus.
