Sai-Taranga 10-8-2023

Sri Sairam College of Engineering has always excelled in upholding research work of the highest degree. In light of this, the Department of Science & Humanities formed its Technical Association and launched their first Academic Event, Sai Taranga for the year 2023. On this occasion, the department had also organised a state level paper presentation for all the first-year students. The program was held on the 10th of August, 2023 in the campus of Sri Sairam College of Engineering.

To enhance the glory of the event we had amongst us dignified and eminent personalities. To begin with, we invited the Chief Technology Officer of Ada Lovelace Software, Dr. Rakesh L, as our Chief Guest for the Day. The day was further enlightened with the presence of our honourable Principal, Dr. B Shadaksharappa, Management Representative, Dr. R Arun Kumar, Convener of the program, Dr. Harikrishna S, Trustee, Sri. K Patel & Chief Accountant Officer, Sri. K Gajendra. The auspicious occasion was initiated with the zestful state song, Naada Geethe. To illuminate the day, the dignitaries lighted the lamp and adorned the dais. The Programme was hosted by the first-year students of ISE & ECE Departments,namely, Sanjana S, Thrivikram G & Bhoomika A.

The Welcome Address was presented before all by Dr. Harikrishna S, convener and Head Department of Science & Humanities. He warmly greeted all the dignitaries, faculties, students and expressed his sincere gratitude to all for their valuable presence. He addressed the students appreciating them for their sincere efforts in writing erudite papers. He highlighted that being in first-year, most of them are amateur in writing papers but with the guidance of all the faculties, the students have come up with informative papers which are also meticulously written. He took this opportunity to thank Principal and Management for supporting the department in forming this phenomenal technical association and helping in the launch of Sai-Taranga, a compiled book for all the papers written and presented.

Next, Dr. Suvodip Mukherjee, Assistant Professor , Department of Science & Humanities shared insightful details about the papers written by students and also motivated the students to make use of such a platform to fight their stage fear and speak in public forums through the medium of paper presentation.

Dr. B Shadaksharappa, Principal proposed the presidential address.  He  congratulated the Department of Science & Humanities on organising such a phenomenal event like Sai Taranga where not just our college students but also students across the state of Karnataka could participate. Students also presented papers from Bahubali College of Engineering, Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, and Rajarajeswari College of Engineering. Principal extended his cordial greetings and welcomed all the external students.He guided the students speaking about the toughest challenges of life and the ways to face them with positivity. He encouraged the students to bring out their best, he advised them to be patient along their academic journey and motivated them to step into such competitions which are exceptionally beneficial in upskilling knowledge.

Furthermore, the Management Representative, Dr. R Arunkumar adorned the dais to address the guests. He too congratulated Department of Science & Humanities in organising a state level presentation and launching Sai Taranga. He mentioned that the book has been meticulously edited and compiled. He highlighted the fact that Sri Sairam College of Engineering is the centre of excellence asit offers technical education along with research opportunities of very high standards to students.He motivated the students to aim for excellence utilising opportunities like this. His words motivated the students towards achieving their goals with innovation and enthusiasm. His all-encompassing speech gave the students an anchor to successfully sail along the sea of life and career.

This was followed by the felicitation of chief guest, following which, the audience was next addressed by the Chief Guest,Dr. Rakesh L, Chief Technology Officer of Ada Lovelace Software. Sir delivered an immensely inspiring speech for all the students. Having erudite visionary, he spoke about his rich experience in the field of innovation with special focus on his journey as the Vice-Chairman of International Telecommunication Union in Geneva. He spoke on the reforms that came under his supervision. Sir enlightened the students on the importance of research and expressed his surprise on seeing the deftness of the papers published in Sai Taranga.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Pandikani M, Assistant Professor in Mathematics. She motivated the students towards building a better future.Ma’am expressed her immense gratitude towards the Chief Guest for contributing his valuable time, in spite of his busy schedule. She heartily thanked all the dignitaries for their presence and insightful words that encouraged the students. She further thanked the faculties and students who have contributed towards making this program a grand success.

Following this, the stage was taken by the students to present the papers they had written in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & English. To judge the state level paper presentation competition, we had amongst us an eminent group of jury members namely, Dr. Smita J A, Dr. Siva Sakhti Balan, Prof. Malini K V, Prof. Harishbabu L, Prof. Raghavendra R M, and Prof. Prashanth K.

Finally, the valedictory program begun with the feedback of the students and the jury members. The competition was fairly judged and the results were declared by the end of the day. Following which, the winners were felicitated with their due prizes. More than winning, participation is important and the program can be called successful in its attempt to bring everyone under one roof is nurturing the ideas put forth by each and every paper presented and published.

The curtains were drawn for the day with the National Anthem.
