The departments are having its own technical associations through which the students are encouraged to develop their Co-curricular skills. The Association regularly organizes Paper Presentation competition, Symposiums, Workshops, Guest Lectures, Conferences, Technical Quiz, etc. The Institution, Faculty and Students are members of Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE). Apart from this the Individual Technical Associations are functioning with their other respective technical bodies like Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) and Computer Society of India (CSI).

ABOUT MTS-INDIA
MTS-India section is one of the newest additions to MTS to spread the awareness, understanding and advancement of marine technology around the world in India. Following the guidelines of the parent organisation MTS, MTS-India section would focus to promote MTS’s mission in India with a thrust on student membership and participation.
The seed to starting MTS India was sowed in May 2015 during Underwater Technology Symposium UT-15 in Chennai India. A group of likeminded scientists and some leading marine technology Industries thought that it was the right time to start a MTS chapter in India. The group met a few times and decided to form MTS India. A formal application was filed with the Govt of India in October for registering MTS India as a society and on 30th Dec 2015 MTS India got the official approval from the registrar of societies. A New Year gift for all of us.

Facilitate a broader understanding of the relevance of marine technology to wider global issues by enhancing the dissemination of marine technology information
Promote and improve marine technology and related educational programs

MTS India officially incorporated on 30th Dec 2015 with its aims and objectives of giving its members of academia and industry a common forum for information and idea exchange.
Today, MTS- India section is a growing organization, boasting a membership of businesses, institutions, individual professionals and students who are ocean engineers, technologists, policy makers and educators.
