Intel Industrial Training(Internship) for Intel Unnati Scheme – 2023

Intel Unnati Industrial training – Summer 2023 was initiated by Intel through the Intel Unnati Lab Scheme in Sri Sairam group of institutions. Initially test was conducted for short listing the third year students of EEE, ECE, CSE and MECH streams with PGPA more than 7 on 17.4.23. 15 out of 112 students (11-CSE, 1-ECE and 3-MECH) were shortlisted by Intel and given opportunity to undergo Internship. Online webinars and meetings were conducted by the Intel mentors and Internal mentor Dr.Swagata Sarkar – HOD/AI & DS, Sairam Engineering College, Chennai on weekly basis in the month of June and July. The students were allocated with projects to work on and were asked to report the progress. Guidance was given in the platform to work and software to be used. Following are the project titles taken up by the 6 teams of 15 students (Each team was assigned a project).

1. Social Distancing using Computer Vision and Deep learning – 3 teams

2. Road Object Detection with Deep learning – 1 team

3. Smart Mobile Phone Price Prediction using Machine Learning – 1 team

4. Design and Implementation of Automated Teller Machine Controller – 1 team

They successfully submitted the project reports and coding in online mode within the deadline i.e., 15th July, 2023. One student per team was invited for Intel Unnati Industrial Training Conclave on 5th August 2023 which was conducted in the Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd, Bellandur Post, Bengaluru. Students got the wonderful opportunity of visiting the Intel Campus and received their Industrial training participation certificates.

• Dr.Smitha J A ,Head of the department published the Journal “OHAR: Optimized Human Action Recognition Paradigm using Optimized Type 2 Neuro-Fuzzy Classifier “ ’Periodico di Minerologia’ Scopus Indexed Journal Volume 91,No.4,2022.
• All CSE faculties presented a paper in ISTE faculty convention on 21st July 2022.
• Published Book in the title of “Self-Learning Approaches of Operation System” by Dr.Shadaksharappa and Prof.Ramkumar.P.
• Published Book in the title of “Data Warehousing and Data Mining ” by Dr.Shadaksharappa and Prof.Ramkumar.P.
• Published Book in the title of “Applications of Python Programming” by Dr.Shadaksharappa and Prof.Ramkumar.P.
• Almost 20 total number of papers published in reputed journals.
• Patent in the title of “Noval Approach of Identifying Tangent and Normal of HyberPola”.

Student Achievements and Awards :

• Shivansh Kumar and team got first prize in Project Expo at City Engineering College on 20.06.2022 under the title of “EDUVISTA 2.0”- Software Category.
• Neelaveni and the team got first prize in Project Expo at City Engineering College on 20.06.2022 under the title of “LAKE CLEANING ROBOT” -Hardware Category.
• Tejas Gowda and team project got shortlisted in SHRUSTI -VTU best project Expo which was held on
• One Team – MENDING MINDSETS got selected for the Final round of Smart India Hackathon 2022.
• Three Project proposals received funds from KSCST worth Rs.18,000/-  in Academic Year 2021-2022.

DR.MANJULA G ,HOD-CSE IS AWARDED FROM GLOBAL MANAGEMENT COUNCIL.

• Final Year Students of CSE department with a *team name : Hactivists*, Ajith, VasudevaRaju, Brindha, Pramod, Bhavyashree k received the FIRST PLACE in *GreenTech Hackathon2020* which is conducted by *St.Josephs College of Engineering at Mangaluru* and worth of cash Prize Rs. *25,000 .*
• A National award of Excellence ” Adarsh Vidya Saraswati Rashtriya Puraskar” from Global Management Council on 15th Aug 2019.

2012 – 2018

• Established Sai Leo Muthu Innovation centre on  June 2016 to encourage innovative thinking in students  and solve real time problems
• The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is recognized as ”Palo Alto Authorized Academic Centre” and given the  access to Palo Alto Faculty Development Programs and content on Network Security.
• Virtual Reality (VR) Lab had been established on November 2017 as part of Innovation lab
• The Department in association with Oracle Academy & ICT Academy conducting FDPs and certification programmes for faculties and students
• Project proposals are submitted to the public organisations and also received  funds from KSCST,IEDC etc
• Faculties are encouraged to appear for Online Certification exams  such as NPTEL and most of faculties are Elite Certified in various courses
• Almost 300 papers are published by students of second third and final year in national and international conferences

• JAYATEERTHA.G   OF FIRST YEAR CSE HAD REPORTED THE XSS  BUG IN   (imagine.academy.microsoft.com) SUBDOMAIN OF MICROSOFT AND ALSO IN OTHER MICROSOFT SERVICES SUCH AS OUTLOOK,BING ETC.Microsoft had recognized his effort with swags  and acknowledged him as “SECURITY RESEARCHER FOR MICROSOFT ONLINE SERVICES”
• Nandakumar,Karthika.K & Latha.S of Final year has won ICT Academy Student Innovator Award 2018,Karnataka
• Divya G of VI semester has  got  “ STUDENT CIRCUIT   AWARD  ”   award  by Association of Scientists,developers and faculties(ASDF)
