Brief description of the project:

The global rise in energy demand has resulted to the over exploitation of both renewable and non renewable energy sources. Most feasible hydroelectric power plants sites have been exploited and the current focus is on harnessing energy from small hydroelectric power plants which have low head and flow velocity rendering them unsuitable for generation. Since the demand of electricity is increasing day by day and also by keeping in mind of future smart city concept in the mind, proposal of Prime Minster of India initiated smart city concept and to support the society we are harvesting an electrical energy from the water supply pipe line without disturbing to the water flow. Here we are considered an overhead tank on larger arcade stores water for everyday use. Energy can be extracted from flowing water when it is supplied to arcade. A micro hydro turbine may be fitted in water pipe line to convert potential energy of water into electrical energy. Electrical energy generation planed for larger arcade with proposed concept and theoretical analysis is carried out and achieved electric energy generation and its estimated based on developing the prototype model by practically.

Social relevance of the project:

  • 100% source of fuel cost is zero.
  • Power generation without interrupting the flow of water in the pipe lines.
  • Water flows through the hydrodynamic turbine, generating power as the turbine spins.
  • In can applied to the following areas as follows;
Large arcade, shopping complex, hospitals, colleges, hostels and etc…
The electricity generated from the pipe is tapped and applied for various loads.

  • Secured Overall 3rd Position out of 13 teams in the Asia’s Largest Solar Powered vehicle event “ISIE-ESVC-2017

Brief description of the project:

  • “Engineering is not all about study but also implementation of things in real life”.
  • Solar vehicle team which allows engineering students irrespective of discipline to form a team to learn and to share the knowledge for designing and fabricating a solar vehicle. Maximum speed of the vehicle is 35 KMPH, we can travel upto 100 km for one time charging and per time charging will take 6 hours.

Social relevance of the project:

  • Like solar-powered homes, this vehicle harness energy from the sun by converting it into electricity.
  • This electricity fuels the battery that runs the car’s motor. Instead of using a battery, we can run the vehicle direct the power straight to an electric motor.
  • The solar panels work silently so they don’t add to the noise pollution already on the road.
  • Solar panels don’t create greenhouse gases, as gasoline engines do. Most importantly, solar energy is free, widely available, and grants the solar car driver complete independence from foreign oil.

Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)

      Dr. B. Shadaksharappa.

Prof. & Head, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering

The potential of Computer Science and Engineering needs no special emphasis. India has become a leader in the field of software development and the industry is growing by leaps and bounds. In today’s modern world, computers are everywhere; home computers connected to the world through the internet, ATM’s, air traffic control systems and lots more. A computer engineer learns how to design and build such systems. The primary part of this learning process is understanding how computers work and then programming them to do what we want. As students of computer science engineering, you will learn how to communicate with computers and how computers communicate with each other.
Job opportunities This is an exciting time for computer engineers. Much of this excitement is due to the dramatic pace at which the industry is growing. Well-qualified IT professionals are in great demand both in India and abroad. Major IT companies are on a talent hunting spree. They are hiring more engineers now than they have in the past five years or so. The need for IT engineers is growing exponentially and is likely to grow in the future considering the advancements and pace of growth of this sector.
